Yankees RHP Clarke Schmidt likely needs a second Tommy John surgery that would sideline him for the remainder of this season.

Schmidt was pulled from his last start on Thursday in Toronto with forearm tightness. He was moved to the injured list on Friday. Just a few weeks ago, Schmidt threw seven no-hit innings against the Orioles, part of a historic streak where the right-hander didn’t allow a run for 28 1/3 innings.
