After acquiring the prescription files from nearly 80 Rite Aid stores, Giant Eagle acknowledges it's at a pinch point right now.

CVS Pharmacy said that it has agreed to acquire the prescription files of 625 Rite Aid pharmacies across 15 states in areas that CVS serves, as well as acquire and operate 64 Rite Aid stores in Idaho, Oregon and Washington. Giant Eagle has agreed to buy dozens of prescription files from Rite Aid pharmacies in Pennsylvania and Ohio.

Giant Eagle announced the last major batch of closing Rite Aid stores for which it has bought the customer lists and will be working to transfer the customer accounts to in the coming days.
