Red flag warnings, signaling elevated wildfire danger, have been issued across Los Angeles, Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties until Saturday.

A heat wave this week is likely to bring dangerously hot conditions and increased wildfire risk to parts of California, including in the Bay Area.

Freeway north of LA is under a red flag warning which was issued by the National Weather Service on Wednesday at 3:34 p.m. The warning is in effect until Saturday Aug. 23, at 9 p.m.
