Prominent Boston attorney Hank Brennan said he will prosecute the Read case "meticulously, ethically, and zealously, without compromise.”

A Massachusetts district attorney on Wednesday appointed a special prosecutor, who has represented James “Whitey” Bulger and other prominent clients in the past, to take on the Karen Read murder case.

Hank Brennan, who worked on the defense team for Whitey Bulger, has been added to lead the prosecution team in the retrial of Karen Read.
