Trump leaves Alaska summit with Putin empty-handed after failing to reach a deal to end Ukraine war
President Donald Trump has failed to secure an agreement from Vladimir Putin to end Russia’s war in Ukraine, falling short in his most significant move yet to stop the bloodshed, even after rolling out the red carpet for the man who started it.
However U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff revealed that Putin agreed to allow the U.S. and its European allies to offer Ukraine a security guarantee at his meeting with Trump.
In doing so, Trump would abandon Europe, open the door for China to invade Taiwan, and reward Russian President Vladimir Putin for his unprovoked and pitiless invasion.
It was not the applause, or the red carpet, or the ride in the Beast that were the biggest gifts offered up to Vladimir Putin at the Alaska summit. President Donald Trump’s greatest favor to his Russian counterpart was time.
