Adobe developed XD in 2015 as a competitor to Sketch, which had debuted five years earlier. Both vector-based applications can be used for the front-end design of websites, apps, and games.

Adobe today announced the launch of the XD CC Starter plan, which provides users with free access to Adobe's all-in-one UX/UI design platform.
