Alabama faces a winter storm this weekend with ice, snow and possible power outages. Alabama Power gives residents tips to prepare and stay safe.

The outage map reports Montgomery County has 179 active outages affecting 10,386 customers.

According to the Alabama Power Outage Map, as of 8 a.m., there are 217 outages. Out of 1,603,477 customers served, the map says 6,480 customers are affected.
