A 12-year-old American boy who was swimming in the water with his brother in the Bahamas was attacked by a shark, authorities said.

The boy’s mother told police they were on a tour of the Exuma Cays when he was attacked at around 3:30 p.m. while swimming with his brother, the Royal Bahamas Police Force confirmed Wednesday.
