NC Highway 12 shut down for safety amid deteriorating conditions

North Carolina Highway 12 closed Saturday between the Marc Basnight Bridge and Rodanthe at 6 p.m. due to deteriorating conditions and poor visibility, officials said.

Currently, it is expected to remain closed until at least Sunday at 5 p.m.
