Trump on Jeffrey Epstein emails
Digest more
By the time Jeffrey Epstein pleaded guilty in 2008 to soliciting prostitution from an underage girl, he had established an enormous network of wealthy and influential friends. Emails made public this week show the crime did little to diminish the desire of that network to stay connected to the financier.
Bannon may have been accusing the Democrats of "stealing" a federal election in 2020, as well as insinuating that Trump lost that election in part because the Chinese "dropped" a pandemic on the U.S. As we have reported previously, there is no evidence to show that the 2020 election was stolen.
The emails show Epstein discussing the treatment of digital assets such as Bitcoin (BTC) and pushing for clearer taxation rules. In one exchange, he urged former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon to engage with officials on crypto policy at the Department of the Treasury.
Bannon served four months in prison in 2024 after defying a congressional subpoena from the January 6 Committee. Earlier this year, he pleaded guilty to defrauding donors to his We Build the Wall nonprofit, avoiding more jail time. President Donald Trump previously pardoned Bannon for related federal charges.
