R ep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) tried to join the MAGA outrage over “woke” companies this week but was quickly hit with a fact-check. In a post on Twitter, Luna grouped Bud Light, Target, Disney, Jaguar, and Cracker Barrel together as “once-great American companies” supposedly destroyed by progressive rebrands.
Taking aim at Cracker Barrel with a string of posts on X, Indianapolis-based burger chain Steak ‘n Shake wrote: “This is what happens when you have a board that does not respect their historical customers or their brand. At Steak n Shake, we have gone back to basics. Our tallow fries are waiting for you. Oh yeah, you can also now pay with Bitcoin!”
MAGA world has made its feelings clear. Cracker Barrel debuted a new logo earlier this week, which removed the iconic image of a man leaning on a barrel, a defining part of the restaurant chain’s identity since 1977. The logo leaves only the name of the restaurant chain — marking the first time in 48 years that it only features text.
The southern-style restaurant chain has invoked criticism by some who dislike their new logo and business practices.
