Recently signed first baseman Nathaniel Lowe continues to make a good impression in his first few at-bats with the Red Sox.

Cora made good on that final promise on Monday night, as Lowe came in to pinch-hit in the ninth inning against Baltimore Orioles closer Yennier Cano. He drew a seven-pitch walk and scored on a Jarren Duran double, but Boston still lost 6-3.

The Nathaniel Lowe signing is good news for the Boston Red Sox on the whole, but certainly not for every individual on the roster. Major League Baseball is an immensely competitive business, and the Red Sox brought in Lowe because they've never truly solved the first base position this year.
