Former Red Sox pitcher agrees to return to 2024 team ahead of free agency
Wacha, 33, was a first-round pick of the St. Louis Cardinals in 2012 and debuted with the club in 2013. He spent time with the New York Mets and Tampa Bay Rays before the Red Sox signed him in 2022. In his one season with Boston, the lefty posted a 3.32 ERA and a 1.115 WHIP while striking out 7.4 batters per nine innings over 23 starts.
