The International Space Station captured the unusually large storm as it swirled near the East Coast of the United States.

As Hurricane Erin​ hovered over the Atlantic Ocean, the first hurricane of the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season​ was spotted from above by cameras on the ISS.

From the vantage point of the International Space Station, Hurricane Erin appeared to consume nearly the entire Atlantic Ocean, its swirling mass seemingly stretching wider than much of the U.S. East Coast.
