Race weekend is officially underway in Daytona Beach, as thousands of NASCAR fans pour into town for the Coke Zero Sugar 400.
When the checkered flag waves Saturday night at Daytona International Speedway, 16 drivers will lock in to compete for the 2025 Cup Series championship while the other 20 will be left pondering the what-ifs and what-could-have-beens after 26 weeks of points racing.

A return to the Chicagoland Speedway, a street race in San Diego and a change to championship weekend highlight the 2026 NASCAR schedule, released Wednesday.
It all comes down to Saturday night at Daytona International Speedway (7:30 p.m. ET, NBC, MRN Radio, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, Peacock) as the 16-driver Cup Series Playoffs field will be set after 400 miles under the lights.
The events will mark NASCAR’s first at the track since 2019, after NASCAR pulled its Joliet event in 2020 amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The schedule released Wednesday includes two off weekends on a calendar that stretches from February to November.
