A former top aide to New York City Mayor Eric Adams is among seven people facing new charges in the corruption investigation that has swirled around City Hall for two years.

The money, tucked in a red envelope in the bag, was a “gesture of affection,” the volunteer’s lawyer said.

Adams’ accuser is seeking discovery materials related to the New York City mayor’s employment record, complaints against his administration and his criminal history.
