A man was killed and four other people were injured when gunfire broke out on Saturday night at a New York City park, according to police and witnesses.

Jerry Adler, who spent decades behind-the-scenes of storied Broadway productions before pivoting to acting in his 60s, has died at 96. Adler died Saturday, according to a brief family announcement confirmed by the Riverside Memorial Chapel in New York.

Four people are in custody after at least five people were shot during a basketball tournament at Haffen Park, the NYPD said.
