After a rough first NFL preseason game, former Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers threw two touchdowns for Miami in his second, leading the Dolphins to a 24-17 win over the Detroit Lions. Arch Manning, his successor at Texas, thinks Ewers is doing pretty well.

The Miami Dolphins selected former Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers in the seventh round with the No. 231 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. The former No. 1 overall recruit saw his final season of college football marred by injury, as he battled through an oblique issue, and also dealt with a severe high-ankle sprain.

Ewers made up for a dismal first preseason performance by throwing for a pair of touchdowns in his second game, including a late 17-play drive to take the lead with barely two minutes remaining, resulting in a 24-17 win for the team over the Detroit Lions, much to the delight of his former backup.
