UFC Fight Night 257 weigh-in results: Brian Ortega vs. Aljamain Sterling moved to catchweight
Brian Ortega vs. Aljamain Sterling is now a catchweight fight after a twist at UFC Shanghai official weigh-ins.
Tonight's UFC Fight Night looks to inject some ferocious Chinese talent into the light heavyweight division. Prolific finisher Mingyang Zhang has ended all 19 of his wins inside the first round, and standing in the way of a top spot in the 205 division is perennial contender Johnny Walker.
Brian Ortega is still competing tomorrow morning (Sat.., Aug. 23, 2025) at UFC Shanghai from Shanghai, China, but not after an apparent ride in an ambulance. On Thursday evening, it was revealed that Ortega was not going to be able to make weight for his co-main event matchup against fellow UFC featherweight Aljamain Sterling.
‘Mountain Tiger’ Zhang Mingyang introduced himself to the American fans in April when he left former title challenger Anthony Smith in a pool of his own blood for his retirement fight. This was Mingyang’s U.S. debut and 19th career finish.
