Eight days after Rebecca Haro reported the disappearance of infant son Emmanuel Aug. 14, she and his dad Jake Haro were arrested on a murder charge, the San Bernardino Sheriff Department confirmed.

On Friday, Aug. 22, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Jake and Rebecca Haro at their Southern California home. The boy's mother initially told authorities 7-month-old Emmanuel had been kidnapped on Aug. 14. Investigators determined the kidnapping never occurred.

Riverside County authorities confirmed Wednesday that they removed a 2-year-old child from the Haro home after Emmanuel was reported missing, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department. The removal is another twist in an already complicated case.

Authorities searching for a missing 7-month-old boy claim his mother has provided "inconsistent" statements to investigators while his father has a prior conviction for child cruelty.

The parents of Emmanuel Haro, a missing 7-month-old in California, have been arrested on allegations of murder in connection to the infant's disappearance, police announced on Aug. 22. The child has been missing for eight days.
