These small but mighty machines were once used by work crews to quickly move to and from railroad works sites. Today, they are collected, restored, and displayed for others to see and admire. Did you ever wonder how some speeders are turned around on a railroad? Many speeders today have built in turntables as seen here in this video of a crew turning their car in our Niles yard earlier this year. Originally, many smaller cars were just turned using handles built into the car and pure human strength.
