Art by Robert Crumb Bumble Bee Slim (1905–1968) was an American Piedmont blues singer, guitarist, and pianist. Born Amos Easton in Georgia, he moved to Indianapolis and later Chicago, where he became a prolific recording artist in the 1930s. His smooth, jazzy blues style and witty lyrics made him popular, and he recorded over 150 songs for labels like Bluebird and Vocalion. Though his fame declined after the 1930s, he continued performing and recording until his death in Los Angeles in 1968. #bl
