Did you know you can get poisoning from potatoes? It's called solanine, and it's a toxic chemical that's naturally produced by potatoes when exposed to light. It can cause things like headaches, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and even neurologic issues. So before you chop up and cook your potatoes, if they have any green spots or sprouts, throw them away.
