Originally written by George Evans and Ren Shields as a Tin Pan alley song, “In the Good Old Summertime” was recorded by Les and Mary for their album 'Les Paul’s New Sound: Volume II' in 1951 and released as a B-side to “Smoke Rings” in 1952.
