Baird’s tapirs are known to love water. In the wild, these tapirs spend hours each day in the water to keep cool and remove harmful parasites, including ticks. A fun fact about the Baird’s tapir is that they can dive under water for several minutes, holding their breath, while their prehensile snouts also function as a snorkel. Cool, right!
